Peds First Pediatrics will provide the highest quality of health care for your children while maintaining premier customer service. As a team, our emphasis is on educating the community in maintaining healthy lifestyles. This is a superior way to manage a child’s health rather than treating disease once it occurs. When prevention fails though, rest assured that our doctors and staff will continue to educate themselves to remain current with the latest information science has to offer and will utilize new technologies when available.

Our History

Peds First Pediatrics was founded by Dr. Jason Halegoua in September of 2009. Dr. Jennifer Nastasi joined the practice as his partner beginning in January of 2010. Both doctors had previously worked for six years at a large multi-site group practice in Suffolk County, and while rewarding in many ways, they felt a key element was missing from their experience. Their goal in establishing Peds First Pediatrics was to create a setting providing improved doctor-patient continuity; a setting that permits the doctors to get to know their patients and families on a more personal level. Peds First Pediatrics achieved this goal, enabling them to practice pediatric medicine at a single location with a warm and welcoming environment.

In April 2012, we welcomed Dr. Jay Iype to Peds First Pediatrics. Dr. Iype brought with him a decade of experience in both urgent care as well as general pediatrics. Dr. Iype also brought his warm demeanor and commitment to every patient he encounters, making him a perfect fit for the practice.

As of the beginning of 2014, the three partners made a decision of the nature of “the more things change…the more they stay the same.” Ever committed to the families they serve while cognizant of the changes in the medical care landscape, Peds First Pediatrics became a division of the Allied Physicians Group. In doing so, Peds First Pediatrics simplified many back office aspects of the business permitting staff increased freedoms to focus even more on the client experience.

As with all decisions made within the practice, this one was made to remain consistent with our mission to provide the highest quality of health care for your children while maintaining premier customer service.

In April of 2016 Peds First Pediatrics moved from its original location down the street to its current home in the Medford Shopping Center. The new office was a chance to create a custom layout to navigate the office much better. While most impressions have been that the space is much larger, the new office is actually a couple of hundred square feet smaller than the prior!
